What is the Happiness Club?
It is a group that explores happiness and promotes the benefits of being happy through meetings and its informative website.

What is the cost?

Zero. There are no dues or any other charges. Attending the meeting need only cost you the time you spend attending and the mental energy required to discuss happiness.

What is the benefit?
There are many benefits, though the most obvious benefit is networking with others interested in happiness and personal development. One can meet new people and form friendships. Attendees might share insights about happiness and recommend books covering the subject of happiness.

Who comes to the Happiness Club?
People from all walks of life and different backgrounds are invited to attend. People of all ages are invited to attend, from age 20 to age 90. The happiness club is not a singles group, but a good place to meet new friends. There is a mixture of women and men. Some people will come alone, but some bring friends.

Is the meeting religious?
No. The meeting is not affiliated with any religious organization, nor is any particular religious philosophy espoused.

Will any products be offered for sale at the meeting?
No. There is no commercial aspect to the meeting.

What is a meeting like?
The chairperson invites participants to discuss the topics listed on the meeting agenda. People talk about their personal views about happiness, their influences and the methods they use to maintain their level of happiness. Sometimes the chairperson brings exhibits. It is a chance to learn from others and express your viewpoint if you choose.

What is on the HappinessClubOfLompoc.com website?

  3. Information about upcoming happiness club meetings.
  4. Information about local seminars that might be of interest to participants.
  5. Information about other interesting events.

What are the chairperson's qualifications for leading the discussion group?
I have no qualifications. I am the common man. What I do have is a strong interest in the subject matter. Since I do not have counseling credentials I want to discourage people with psychological disorders (e.g., depression, anxiety) from attending the meeting. The meeting is for people who are mentally healthy; those who are generally happy already and who wish to be happier.
